Coca-Cola Unveils Its Grandest Targets Ever

The tenth annual Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability report, released recently by Coca-Cola Enterprises has outlined the Company’s most ambitious project to date. This includes focusing on issues pertaining to the environment, well-being and employability of the people connected to CCE as well as feedback from its stakeholders.

· Among the commitments are:

· A cut in calories by 10 percent across CCE’s entire range from 2020.

· Reducing the carbon footprints of its business by up to fifty percent.

· Ensuring that 40 percent of the PET utilized is recycled or made of renewable materials.

· Assisting in developing the skills and learning requirements of 250,000 youngsters, each year.

With the increased awareness regarding calorie intake and obesity prevalent among people today, CCE has placed itin a winning position with its strategy to reduce its calorie content significantly. Also, by the year 2020 the Company hopes to have reached its target of motivating three million people, to be physically active.

The newly released report highlights CCE’s significant achievements which include a substantial increase in the use of recycled PET – specifically one third of the total PET usage. Also highlighted is the twenty nine percent reduction in carbon footprints achieved since 2007.

Expressing satisfaction at the progress of its sustainability journey over the past ten years, CCE stated it remained committed towards accomplishing its new responsibilities involving social and environmental issues to uphold consumers’ interests along with its newly formed objectives. CCE further stated that its new commitments are a result of the feedback provided by the Company’s stakeholders. This feedback helped in the formulation of goals that are more challenging, especially in the areas of carbon and well-being.
