Spandan samaj Seva samiti is committed to care of the malnourished children of Korku tribe in Khalwa Block of Khandwa district in MP for past decade. We have been at advocating their cause and have set up innovative models in teh community to save the lives of Korku tribe children. The Korku tribe faces dual threat: dying children and dying langauge. With CMR as high as 101 for U5 boys and 105 for U5 girls and with 57% children underweight, 43% stunted and 30% wasted the gravity of the situation can be discerned.
Manutrition grows most vociferously during forst three years of life and causes damages that remain incurable in later life. To address this issue we have begun community creches for wage earning Korku tribe mothers who can leave the kids while on work to be fed, cared and health checked. The pilot creches we began one in rural arae and another in urban slum has yelded results and the efforts need scaling up. It wil complement teh governemnt effort and also serve as a policy influencing refernce point. Managing a creche( logistics, manpower and food and healthcare) costs neearly 10,000 a month. It means roughly 40 rupees a day per child... is that a cost too high tosave the life of a child ???
Will you stertch forth your hand and support a genuine cause ??? We are looking for donors...
Your contribuitons will provide benefits under section 80G
