Sir Ratan Tata Trust and Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust are among the oldest Indian foundations and today, continue to pursue the goal of being a professionally managed philanthropic organisation. Through its grant making, the Trusts supports efforts for the development of society, in areas of Rural Livelihoods & Communities (RLC), Education, Health, Civil Society & Governance and Arts, Crafts & Culture. 

One of the key livelihood initiatives of the Trusts is the Central India Initiative, which focuses on securing food and livelihood security of tribal communities across the central Indian tribal belt. As part of the Trust strategy in state immersion, the Trusts, in 2007, seeded an Associate Organisation called Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CInI), Jamshedpur. CInI develops Central India Initiative project clusters as demonstration sites for comprehensive development, in partnership with 25 civil society organizations across the region. It works on key themes of Agriculture, Water Resource Development; Community based Micro-Finance, Community Based Institutions, Livestock and Forest Based Livelihoods. Through partnerships with non profits, research institutes and state agencies, it reaches out to over 450,000 households in the central indian tribal belt. As nodal agency for the Central India Initiative, CInI also provides technical backstopping, programme development and management support, knowledge management and coordination support. It has a team of 20 professionals located across Gujarat and Jharkhand. 

Assistant Development Manager

The Trusts are looking for a suitable professional to be part of the CInI programme team. Functioning as Programme coordinator (CInI East), the professional would assist the Team Leader (CInI-East) in integrating thematic interventions in identified clusters and building partnerships with stakeholders. Specifically the role would involve:
• Coordinating projects and providing support to the team/project anchor/theme anchors in implementing project activities
• Supporting the team leader to strengthen collaborations and sharing vision with partners, while developing Central India Initiative clusters as demonstration sites for comprehensive tribal development
• Documentation of project results and sharing of experiences with other stakeholders
• Building partnerships with government departments, academic institutions, and relevant stakeholders to support programmes

The candidate should: 
1) Be a Post Graduate in Agriculture / Natural Resource Management / Social Sciences or related disciplines. 
2) Have a minimum 10 years of work experience in the development sector at mid management level. 
3) Have a strong understanding on tribal livelihood issues and demonstrated work experience in Central India. 
4) Possess strong communication skills. 
5) Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-stakeholder environment.

The agenda is to mobilize the rural poor and vulnerable people into self- managed, federated institutions and support them for livelihood collectives. In addition, the poor would be facilitated to achieve increased access to their rights, entitlements and public services, diversified risk and better social indicators of empowerment.

Further to these objectives, Maharashtra state rural livelihood Mission (MSRLM) has been constituted and registered under the Societies Act 1860 by the Government of Maharashtra with an objective to enhance social and economic empowerment of the rural poor in Maharashtra through development of their self-sustained and community Managed institutions. This objective is expected to be met through creating an enabling environment where rural poor can access and negotiate better services, credit and assets from public and private sector agencies and financial institutions.

Roles and responsibilities of PC

o Supervision of field level activities on regular basis.

o Development and monitoring of weekly work plan (for CSC staff) as per the performance indicators for Outreach Workers and Community counselors.

2. Ensure that the Community counselors and ORWs carry materials that are important for the smooth conduct of program activities both within in the CSC and during the field visits. For e.g. Daily diaries communication/ advocacy materials for distribution/demonstration.

o Oversee all the M&E activities in the project

Counsellor

Key FunctionsThe Counsellor is key focal person responsible for providing overall psychosocial counselling support to PLHIV including children, families and members from the HRGs who frequent the CSCs. The counsellor will work closely with ORW and community (peer led) counsellors and equip them with skills on developing support groups, providing peer counselling and counselling support on selected thematic areas.

 

Educational Qualification: Graduate with 2 years relevant experience

Roles and responsibilities of Counsellor

o Provision of advance level counselling on selected themes to PLHIV beneficiaries in the project.

1. Understand the sub-group-specific special needs in counselling (e.g. PLHIV from HRGs, children and families infected and affected by HIV)

2. Counseling on bereavement, emotional and spiritual well-being of PLHIV which will have bearing on their psychological health.

3. Counselling on reproductive health and child bearing

4. Drug/alcohol and substance abuse counselling

5. Advice on legal rights

6. Nutrition/Health talks /dietary counselling and conduct nutrition assessment

7. Information sharing (related to the HIV disease, death, quality of life etc.)

8. Counselling of children infected and affected by HIV by assisting in varied activities like Life Skills Training, Talent promotion, Recreational activities, Child protection issues, Formation of children support groups, Youth clubs, Sports activities, Family support groups

o To ensure that PLHIVs , where necessary , are linked to other services/service providers both within the CSC and outside (as part of linkages established by the CSC as part of Vihaan)

o To provide family counselling, advance psychosocial, treatment education, adherence, SRH etc at the CSC with PLHIV clients/caregivers who visit CSC.

o Facilitating the process of capacity building of community counsellors.

o Help the ORW in organising support group meetings (SGM)and also facilitate these meetings.

1. The counsellor will assist the community (or peer led counsellor) in facilitating the SGM

o Assist in /develop the communication activities of Vihaan

1. Assist with the development of content/ strategy for sensitisation meetings with different stakeholders as part of the advocacy activities initiated by Vihaan

o Compliance with the ethical norms in counselling as established by the project and in line with the NACP guidelines.

o Diagnostic counselling and testing for HIV/AIDS: Pre-test counselling where necessary and reinforcement of post test counselling of those who are referred to CSC from ICTC and other sources.

o Periodic field visits in conjunction with community counsellor and ORW to meet with members of PLHIV community and their families.

ORW

Key Functions: ORW will be the overall lead to the field Team of the CSC. ORW will identify and facilitate registration of PLHIVs including those with special needs (children, HRGs) under the programme. In conjunction with community counsellors, they will provide support and education on treatment, nutrition to PLHIVs. They will also maintain records of beneficiaries they serve. ORW involve PLHIVs in community based programs and activities and help them lead a healthy life style and live positively.

 

Roles and responsibilities of ORW

o Identification and registration of PLHIV including those from HRGs under CSCs

o Conduct field visits, participate in awareness generation activities

1. Conduct home visits with the community counsellor, registered PLHIV and affected families to provide treatment education, education on prophylaxis (adults & children), on OI infections, respiratory infections, nutrition education, healthy lifestyles and positive living and psychosocial support

2. Track LFUs(ART and Pre ART) and report back on the status

3. Liaise with and conduct regular visits to respective ART centres assigned by the coordinator

o Provide home based care services in accordance to the guidelines developed under the program

o Develop of work plan

1. Responsible for weekly report writing, record keeping MIS.

o Facilitate networking among partner NGOs, CSC linkages with other programs/services

1. Provide functional referral services through effective linkages with public health and private service providers and ensure accessibility of services through regular home visits

2. Listing and meeting with local services providers like private medical practitioners, legal advisors etc in the target area.

o Advocacy

1. Organizing community events with the help of community counsellors and DLN. health camps, fairs etc

2. Organizing and participating in advocacy activities including rapport building with other stakeholders both within government and in the community.

3. Liaise with AWC and ASHA, referral of eligible children and pregnant women to access supplementary nutrition from AWC

4. Liaise with community leaders, local clubs and other social organizations to enhance their involvement in the program

 

o Assist the project in the recruitment of suitable community counsellors.

o Meeting with the community counsellors once a week.

o Liaise with TIs in the district

o Facilitate filling of forms and collect them from households for social entitlements and schemes - hand over to the PC.

o Co-ordinate with the counselor and Project Coordinator in the Program, reporting of daily activities and performing tasks or responsibilities assigned by PC from time to time

 

Community counsellors

Educational Qualification:12th pass with relevant experience and from PLHIV community

 

Key functions: Key link between the CSC and the field in all matters relating to counselling. S/he will also play an important role of linking beneficiary PLHIV to the project, linking the CSC with the PLHIV networks and also in the advocacy activities in the project

 

Roles and responsibilities of Community Counsellor

o Conduct sensitization meeting with village panchayats(PRIs) and key stakeholders on issues of care and support and prioritize PLHIV and affected families for availing social entitlements and schemes

o Community advocacy with local stakeholders

o Liaise with local Positive networks(wherever CSCs are managed by NGO)

o Encourage and counsel partners/spouses and children for early testing and accompany and refer family members and partners for ICTC and other health referrals

o Formation and strengthening of support groups of adults and children in the respective field areas with the help of Counselor and PC

o Support outreach

1) By providing first stop counselling services in the field for PLHIV and families on treatment education for people who are on ART and not on ART.

o Set the tone for advance counselling at CSC by providing basic psycho-social support to PLHIV who are on ART and their family members

o Activities :

1) Assist the ORW in providing referral services to other service providers ,home visit and follow-up visits for PLHA on ART

2) Attend the training programs organized by the DLN/NGO

3) Maintaining records/registers and submits monthly reports to the DLN.

o Play an assist (to ORW and other CSC staff) or lead role in project activities that require the presence of community members e.g. advocacy initiatives.

o Generate demand for Welfare programs/schemes and facilitating identification of beneficiaries

o Building skills of PLHIV community in understanding the importance of positive prevention

o Attend review meetings and preparing and present daily reports to CSC counselor\

o Attend all trainings, workshops and seminars conducted by the SSR

• One hundred students will be given Micro-scholarships by the Regional English Language Embassy, U.S. Embassy, New Delhi, and these students will be taught in groups of 25 by 4-5 teachers. The session will be held for 5 hours a week (each session is 1 hour) between 4 and 5 p.m.

 

Responsibilities:

• -to teach English language to students from disadvantaged communities for 5 hours per week according to the Access program curriculum

• -to ensure routine documentation related to activities and thematic areas covered during teaching

• To conduct initial and periodic assessment of students’ performance

• At least three years of teaching experience

• Willingness to learn and adopt new approaches to education
