Established in 1936, Tata Institute of Social Sciences is a Government of India funded Deemed University that contributes to the creation of ecologically sustainable, equitable and justsociety. TISS through its 9 schools and 3 independent centres at the MumbaiCampus, along with vibrant campuses in Tuljapur (Rural Maharashtra), Guwahatiand Hyderabad offers 45 highly competitive, socially relevant M.A. / M.Sc. /M.P.H./ M.H.A. Programmes in inter and trans-disciplinary areas of social work,health, management, development, habitat and climate sciences. TISS ANNOUNCES Admission to the 2014-16 batch forit’s Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programmes (M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A.,M.P.H.) offered from Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses

Reservation:

As per Government of India norms, Mumbai, Tuljapurand Hyderabad Campuses provide 15%, 7.5% and 27% reservation to ScheduledCaste, Schedule Tribe and Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) for each ofthe programmes. In addition, supernumerary seats are allocated to Persons WithDisabilities (PWD) {3%} , Kashmiri migrants {1%} and children of the ArmedForces Employees {5%}

As per agreement with Ministry of Development ofNorth-East Region, Government of India, Guwahati Campus allots 66% of the seatsto candidates from eight North Eastern States. The remaining 34% of the seatsare for candidates from other parts of the country. For these seats (34%) samerules for reservation mentioned above for SC/ST and OBC categories areapplicable . In addition, supernumerary seats are allocated to Persons WithDisabilities (PWD) {3%} , Kashmiri migrants {1%} and children of the Armed ForcesEmployees {5%}

Campus Preference:

TISS offers 45 Master’s Degree programmes from itsMumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses for the 2014-2016 batch.Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes across any of thetwo campuses indicating the order of preference. The merit list will beprepared based on the preferences given by the candidate in the applicationform.

National Entrance Test will take place at 35centres in different cities/towns across the country.  Pre Interview Test(PIT) and Personal Interview (PI)  for programmes offered at  Mumbai,Tuljapur, MHAT, CUTN, and  BANYAN will be conducted at the Mumbai Campus .For programmes offered at Hyderabad and Guwahati, the PIT/PI will be conductedat the respective campuses. Candidates applying for programmes at more than onecampus, will have to travel to these places for PIT/PI. Except for the eligiblecandidates from the SC/ST/OBC(NC) categories all others will bear the cost oftravel, lodging and boarding for attending the NET, as well as PIT/PI

ncase the candidate is selected for more than one programme after NationalEntrance Test, Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview, admission will beoffered to the programme higher in the order of preference.

Application Submission:

Candidates have to apply through the online application form only.Following are the steps involved in filling up the form

The candidate has to register with an emailid. The candidate willbe sent a password which is to be used to login and fill the online form.

After login candidates have to fill in their basic details,academic details and have to mention the programmes they wish to apply for inthe order of preference.

Pay the application fee (depending on number of programmesapplied) either by depositing cash in any branch of SBI or through Credit card/Debit Card/ Net Banking and

Scan and upload photograph, signature, marksheet of last exampassed and other necessary certificates.

Candidates having lack of access to internet services (remotearea) can write to Mumbai campus for printed application form. They have to theapplication form and submit before last date of submission.

Candidate can apply for multiple programmes and pay for all theprogrammes in one online form and should not fill more than one online form. Ifa candidate is found to have filled more than one form, all his applicationswill be cancelled

Pre Admission Orientation:

Every year the pre-admission orientation is organised by the Social Protection Office(SPO) for all SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Minoritycandidates who have qualified to appear for the National Entrance Test of theInstitute.  The objectives of this programme is to orient candidates fromthese categories to the whole process of the entrance test, various aspects ofcomputer based test, group discussion/pre-interview test and personalinterview. All the above category candidates are oriented to the facilities andentitlements. This orientation is a unique effort of the TISS to buildconfidence among SC,ST, OBC(NC), PWD and Minority candidates.

Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC(NC), PWDand minority communities are eligible to attend the two -day orientationprogramme to be held on November 15-16,  2013 in Mumbai, Guwahati and onNovember 16-17, 2013 at Delhi and on November 29-30,  2013 at Hyderabad.Candidates from these categories must choose the place nearest to theirresidence and indicate  the centre for orientation programme in theirapplication form. An invitation letter by email from the Office of Dean, SocialProtection Office will reach them 2 weeks prior to the date of orientationprogramme.

Travelling Allowance (TA) is paid to eligible*candidates (SC/ST/OBC(NC) for attending the Pre-Admission Orientation Programmeat the Centre. The candidates are required to submit the TA form along with onward (Original) and return journey tickets(photo copy), Caste/Tribe/OBC(NC)certificate and Income Certificate for preceding year issued by a competent authority.

(*Criteria for Eligibility: Unemployed SC/ST andOBC(NC) candidates whose parent’s / guardian’s income is below Rs. 2.5 lakhsand Rs. 1 lakh respectively for the Financial Year 2012-13. Other SC/ST/OBCcandidiates will not be entitled for TA.)

National Entrance Test:

National Entrance Test (TISS-NET)  is computerbased. It will be held on December 15, 2013

Dalit Foundation isa national organisation that is devoted to promoting the cause of Dalit Rightsthrough supporting activists and groups that are committed to fightingcaste-based discrimination. Set up in June 2003, it is an organisation thatprovides small fellowships, grants and capacity building support to grassrootslevel initiatives that are fighting to help Dalits reclaim a life a dignity,equal rights and opportunities.Presently thefoundation is at a stage in its growth where more people need to be involved tostrengthen and fortify its work. We, therefore, decided to train dalit youth asfellows with the knowledge, perspectives and skills to pursue social action andbecome sensitive young leaders for the dalit movement as part of the foundation’steam. The programme entails a holistic development of the Young Professionalsthrough perspective building, exposure to grassroots level work and training insystematic and objective research methodologies. A fellowship of oneyear would be provided to selected candidates, this could be extended to onemore year. 


The objective is: - to train young resourceful dalit youth and provide them with exceptional opportunities forpersonal and professional growth - To prepare insightful and skilled professionals for the foundations- To build an allIndia perspective on dalit issues based on the research and observations of theyoung professionals.

It is one of the most prestigious awards for organization who have excelled in the field of ‘quality’ either in manufacturing sector or in service sector.

ICICI Business Leadership Programme

ICICI Business Leadership Programme is an initiative by ICICI Bank in partnership with NIIT University to deliver Master of Business Administration (MBA – Finance & Banking) programme with specialization in finance and banking. It aims to provide opportunities to professionals, who demonstrate an aptitude for the banking industry, to get identified and nurtured as future business leaders. It provides a career leap to business leadership positions and an opportunity to serve corporate India.

The unique design of the programme focuses on providing high degree of industry exposure, by academic and functional experts from the financial domain and banking industry. The programme has a desired blend, wherein students will undergo six months module of industry linked internship at ICICI Bank twice during the 2 year course duration.

The course structure will be as follows :(


Each term comprises of 3 months duration.

Specialization in wholesale banking, risk and technology will be in second year.

During the internship the weekly schedule will consist of the students undertaking on-the-job training for 5 days. The 6th day will be reserved for classroom engagement with the assigned faculty.

On successful completion of the MBA (Finance & Banking) Programme students will be absorbed at ICICI Bank as Manager-II grade or above based on duration of prior work experience.

The starting remuneration on Cost to Company basis for these students will be in the range of 15 lacs and above [Per Annum].

Placement at ICICI Bank

On successful completion of the course students will be absorbed at ICICI Bank as Manager-II grade or above based on duration of prior work experience.

The students who participate in this programme will need to sign a  20 lacs bond with ICICI Bank. Post successful completion of the course, athe students will be required to work for ICICI Bank for a minimum period of 3 years. If any student thereafter chooses to leave the services of the Bank within 3 years of joining, he would be required to reimburse  20 lacs, towards cost of education and stipends paid and the opportunity lost for the organization.

For the purpose of grant of subsidized loan, academic certificates of such students will be retained by ICICI Bank for the period of loan as a security.

Eligibility Criteria

Working professionals who are CAs / Engineers / Graduates in any discipline(s).

Academic qualifications - Graduates from engineering, IT, finance, economics, law, commerce, statistics etc / Chartered Accountants / Professionals with varied work experience (including shop floor professionals).

Minimum 60 % in 12th and 10th examination boards and minimum 55% in graduation.

Work Experience after graduation- Minimum of 3 years (full time experience across industries).

Age - Applicants should not exceed 30 years of age (as on October 21, 2013).

Candidates with exceptionally rich work experience may be given a dispensation in terms of academic performance on a case-by-case basis if recommended by the Admissions Committee
